[Football] Heithoff Named NAIA All-American

Doane linebacker Riley Heithoff (SR/Raymond, Neb.) has been named an honorable mention NAIA All-American for his efforts during the 2020-21 season. Doane, like many teams, had to battle through the pandemic and missed their final two games of the regular season in the fall. The Tigers did not play any games in the spring and finished with a 2-5 record.Heithoff, who has plans to come back for an extra season of eligibility, led the team in tackles with 66, including 28 solo. Following the completion of the spring season (minus the NAIA championship game), Heithoff ranked 25th nationally in tackles per game with 9.4 on the season. Behind the line of scrimmage, Heithoff proved to be one of the toughest to stop in the NAIA as he ranked 10th in the NAIA in tackles for loss per game and sacks per game. He recorded 13.5 tackles for loss and 6.0 sacks in seven games.A complete list of NAIA All-Americans can be found here: https://www.naia.org/sports/fball/2020-21/releases/2020-21_FootballAA
