[Football] Barbazon Named Second Team All-American

Ty Barbazon (JR/Ocala, Fla.) put together an impressive season in the middle of the Doane Football defensive line and those efforts continued to be recognized on Monday with the announcement of the AFCA-NAIA All-American teams announced.Barbazon was recognized as a Second Team All-American, the first Doane defensive lineman to receive NAIA All-American honors since Weylin Dittmar was named honorable mention in 1999. The last Tiger defensive lineman to make an All-American team was Greg Chapek in 1986 when he received First Team honors and Dean Weinmeister in 1980 when he was named Second Team.During the 2021 breakout season for Barbazon, he posted 62 tackles with 13.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks. He also recovered one fumble and had a pass breakup. Last year he had five tackles in the shortened season.
