[Football] Football Season Comes to Close in Fremont

Doane Football closed out the season on Saturday with a trip to Fremont to take on Midland (Neb.). The Warriors were able to jump out early and posted a 31-7 win over the Tigers. Doane ends the season with a 4-7 overall record and 4-5 mark in GPAC play.On the day, the Doane offense was held to 122 yards of total offense. The Tigers were 3-of-16 on 3rd and 4th down, combined. Jacobi White (JR/Grapevine, Texas) led the Tigers with 32 yards rushing on five carries, averaging 6.4 yards a carry. Kyle Jensen (SR/Exeter, Neb.) returned to the Tiger backfield and added 28 yards on 13 carries.Drake Davidson (JR/Moberly, Mo.) and Cameron Quick (FR/Wahoo, Neb.) combined to go 6-of-18 passing for 68 yards. Davidson scored Doane's only touchdown of the game on a one-yard quarterback sneak in the 3rd quarter. Levi Sudbeck (SR/Hadar, Neb.) recorded two receptions for 42 yards to lead the Tigers' receiving corps.Sudbeck added a solid day punting, averaging 43.1 yards per punt on seven attempts. He placed two that were downed at the Midland one-yard line.Defensively, the Tigers held Midland to 332 yards of total offense. Connor O'Toole (SR/Wilber, Neb.) was in on 12 tackles for the Tigers with Zane Koskelin (SR/Mabank, Texas) in on 11 tackles. Garrett Fries (SR/Indianola, Neb.) added nine tackles and Brody Azbill (SR/Phoenix, Ariz.) was in on six tackles, including a team-best 1.5 tackles for loss.
