[Football] Football Falcons Place Five on National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society List

IRVING, Texas – Five Friends University Football student-athletes have been named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society List, the organization announced today (Apr. 14).The Falcon honorees are Drake Damon (SR/Goddard, Kan. ), Dan Dawdy (SR/Haysville, Kan.), Caleb Fink (SR/Wichita, Kan. ), Brock Johnston (SR/Claremore, Okla.) and Jacob Kerby (SR/Kanopolis, Kan.)."I am so proud of what these guys have accomplished in the classroom during their time at Friends University," said Friends Football head coach Dion Meneley. "Being a true student-athlete is not an easy thing to do, but this group has shown that it can be done at a high level on a consistent basis.  Each of these guys have been an integral part of the development of our program and we could not be more appreciative of their efforts and sacrifices.  These men will represent the Falcon family well as they move on to the next stage of their lives and are very deserving of this award."   To be eligible for this prestigious award, the football student-athlete must meet the following criteria:•             Completed their final year of playing eligibility in Fall 2020 or Spring 2021; Graduated players, who have remaining eligibility but will not return to collegiate play (e.g. declared for NFL Draft or retired from football), may also be nominated.•             Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average throughout entire course of undergraduate study; and•             Met all NCAA- or NAIA-mandated progress toward degree requirements.•             Been starters or significant contributors throughout the 2020-21 season.For the official release from the National Football Foundation, including the complete list, click HERE.
