[Football] Blubaugh, McKenzie lead 10 Football Falcons on All-KCAC list

WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University junior linebacker Jagger Blubaugh (SO/Wichita, Kan.) and senior defensive lineman Kevin McKenzie (SR/Keota, Okla.) have been named to the All-KCAC football second-team, the league announced earlier today (Nov. 16).  Eight other Falcons earned honorable-mention recognition, including running back Laken Clowdus (FR/Barlesville, Okla.), fullback Trace Van Guilder (FR/Hilmar, Calif.) and a trio of offensive lineman in Manuel Aguilar (FR/Wichita, Kan.), Dalton Phillips (FR/Choctaw, Okla.) and Stephen Acosta (SO/Clovis, N.M.) on the offensive side. Honorable-mention defensive players are defensive linemen Tucker Trevett (FR/Wichita, Kan.) and Keyon Dickerson (FR/Midwest City, Okla.) along with defensive back Nolan Ewing (FR/Spring Hill, Kan.).A force all over the field from the outset, Blubaugh led the Falcons and ranked second in the KCAC in both tackles (115) and tackles per game (11.5). He also notched a pair of sacks and had five tackles for loss.  In his final season with the program, McKenzie made it count with 35 tackles, two sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss while also blocking a kick.Clowdus was a workhorse at running back for the Falcons all season, racking up 686 rushing yards that ranked eighth in the league. He scored seven touchdowns, including reaching the end zone four times during a career-best performance of 196 yards that earned him KCAC Offensive Player of the Week in a 35-13 victory over Bethany College (10-30).Van Guilder rushed seven times for 39 yards and flashed outstanding blocking ability from the fullback position in his first season with the Falcons.Paving the way for Clowdus, Van Guilder and company were a solid trio of offensive lineman in Aguilar, Phillips and Acosta. The offensive lineman helped the Falcons average 142.7 rushing yards per game.Defensively, Trevett paced the Falcons and was tied for 11th in the KCAC with four sacks on the season.Dickerson ranked in the top five on the team in tackles (34) along with one sack and 1.5 tackles for loss.In his first season with the team, Ewing gave the Falcons versatile defensive play in the secondary.  He was second on the team in both tackles (80) and tackles for loss (6.5) while forcing two fumbles and intercepting one pass.
