[Football] Clowdus selected as CoSIDA Academic All-America NAIA Football honoree

AUSTIN, Texas – Friends University running back Laken Clowdus has been voted as a 2021 NAIA Football Academic All-America selection awarded by the College of Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).Voted on by active CoSIDA members, the CoSIDA Academic All-America teams are chosen from first-team Academic All-District selections.Clowdus, a business administration major, served as the Falcons' primary back all season, leading the Falcons and ranking eighth in the KCAC with 686 rushing yards along with a team-best seven touchdowns.A native of Bartlesville, Okla., Clowdus's season featured a career-best performance of 196 yards and four touchdowns that earned him KCAC Offensive Player of the Week honors in a 35-13 victory over Bethany College (10-30).Clowdus also rushed for at least 70 yards on four other occasions, including a 104-yard outburst at Ottawa University (10-23).For the complete CoSIDA NAIA Football Academic All-America list, click HERE.
