[Football] McShane runs for 116; Saint Xavier defeats St. Francis, 19-12

Joliet, Ill. – Junior running back Vance McShane (Freeport, Ill./Western Illinois/Freeport) ran for 116 yards and scored a touchdown on 21 carries to help lead Saint Xavier University football (1-0, 0-0 MSFA) to a 19-12 victory over University of St. Francis (Ill.) Saturday afternoon at Joliet Memorial Stadium in Joliet, Ill. It was coldest game on record for the Cougars as it was 13 degrees at kickoff. It was also the first time that SXU has played a game in February as their schedule was pushed back to the spring semester due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
