SCSU Football Celebrates Homecoming With 37-20 Win Against Franklin Pierce

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – In front of a capacity crowd of over 5,000 on campus for Southern Connecticut's Homecoming 2022 celebration, the Owls' football team defeated Franklin Pierce, 37-20, for its first win of the 2022 season. Tylon Papallo (Meriden, Conn.) had a pair of highlight-reel plays with an 82-yard punt return for a touchdown before also scoring on a 49-yard reception. Owls quarterback Marc Reali (Biddeford, Me.) was 6-for-11 for 141 yards and a 49-yard touchdown pass and totaled 60 yards on the ground with a 17-yard touchdown run. The Owls ran the ball 42 times against the Ravens, with Jordan Davis (Wallingford, Conn.) rushing for a team-high 65 yards on 10 carries with one touchdown and a 43-yard carry. Ryan Soules (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) led Southern with three catches for 37 yards. Szymon Gawlick (Newton, Mass.) was 3-for-3 on field goal attempts, and also converted on all four extra-point attempts.
