McCarthy Named to Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List

MOBILE, Ala. – The preseason accolades continue to pile in for East Stroudsburg University football defensive end Deshawn McCarthy, as the Philadelphia native was named to the Reese's Senior Bowl Watch List, the organization announced on Wednesday morning.

Along with the Reese's Senior Bowl, McCarthy, a two-time All-PSAC East First Team selection and 2021 AFCA All-America First Team honoree has now received preseason recognition from the Shrine Bowl and Lindy's Sports. He was also named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team for his involvement in the community.

Last season, McCarthy compiled 36 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, three forced fumbles and four pass deflections. In the PSAC, he ranked sixth in sacks and ninth in tackles for loss. He led the conference in forced fumbles per game.
