Horne named Southeast Region Defensive Player of the Year; ‘Dogs lead the way with eight All-Region honorees

Valdosta, Ga.—-Wingate University redshirt senior defensive end DJ Horne adds another big accolade to his stellar season, being named the Southeast Region Defensive Player of the Year by the D2CCA Thursday morning. Horne is one of seven Bulldogs to earn first team All-Region honors, with the 'Dogs adding two more second team selections. Wingate's seven first team honorees are three more than the second-highest team (West Florida), while the nine total selections are also three more than any other team.
