[Football] Ward, Zitkus named MSFA Players of the Week

After leading St. Ambrose to its fourth straight win, Yemi Ward and Ryan Zitkus were named the Mid-States Football Association Midwest League Players of the Week.Ward earned Offensive Player of the Week honors after hauling in three touchdown passes in the Bees' 24-7 win at St. Francis (Ill.) Saturday. He caught scoring receptions of 52, 27 and 25 yards. The sophomore from Chicago, Ill., finished with eight receptions for 158 yards. Ward became just the 14th SAU player to haul in three touchdown receptions in a single game.Zitkus led a dominating Bee defense to earn Defensive Player of the Week accolades for the second time this season. The senior defensive lineman from Bloomington, Ill., recorded five tackles for loss and four sacks among his seven total tackles in the St. Ambrose victory. He helped the Bees limit the Saints to just a single rushing yard.St. Ambrose will close the regular season by hosting No. 21 Roosevelt Saturday.
