[Football] St. Ambrose announces changes to 2020 football schedule

2020 SAU Football ScheduleIn accordance with the NAIA return-to-play guidelines announced earlier this month, the Mid-States Football Association had announced changes to the previously-released 2020 league schedule.The NAIA has reduced the maximum number of contests to nine games, with the start date coming no earlier than Saturday, September 12. Half of all NAIA football programs (47 out of 95) must gain clearance from their respective local and university authorities to play for the season to begin by Sept. 12."We are pleased to overcome the first hurdle of the 2020 season," said MSFA Commissioner Gary Newsome. "We know that much needs to be done, but our schedule is complete and the coaches are ready to compete."In the updated version of the 2020 MSFA schedule, the first two weeks of the original slate of games were eliminated. All teams, other than provisional members Judson and Madonna, will play all six in-league opponents for a full conference schedule.St. Ambrose will kick off its campaign at home against Marian on Sept. 12. That game will kickoff at 1 p.m. at Brady Street Stadium.The Bees will play five of their nine games at home, including their Homecoming contest against the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) on Sept. 26.
