[Football] Fighting Bees football schedule announced for 2021 season

Head coach Mike Magistrelli has announced the schedule for the St. Ambrose football team's 2021 season.The Fighting Bees are coming off a strong 2020 season, which was played in the spring of 2021. After getting out to a slow 1-2 start, St. Ambrose rallied off four straight wins (including a 17-10 road win over #18 Saint Xavier) to finish the season with a 5-3 overall record and a 4-2 record in MSFA play.The 2021 season opens up with a three-game homestand, with Iowa Wesleyan coming to Davenport on Aug. 28 to kick-off the season for the Fighting Bees. St. Ambrose will then host Waldorf on Sept. 4 and Concordia (Mich.) on Sept. 11 at Brady Street Stadium to finish out the homestand.St. Ambrose will travel to Southfield, Mich. on Sept. 18 to take on Lawrence Tech in their first away game of the season. The Fighting Bees were road warriors last season, going 3-1 away from Brady Street Stadium.The Bees will receive a bye week after their Michigan road trip. Following the rest week, St. Ambrose will celebrate their homecoming, capped off with a MSFA showdown against Trinity International on Oct. 2.After homecoming, St. Ambrose will take on a two-game conference road stint. The Fighting Bees will travel to Elgin, Ill. to battle the Judson Eagles in their inaugural season on Oct. 9, followed by a duel in Bourbannais, Ill. against the defending MSFA-Midwest Champion Olivet Nazarene on Oct. 16.The Bees will be home on Oct. 23 to host St. Francis, a team that the Bees bested twice during the 2020 season. On Oct. 30, St. Ambrose will travel to Chicago to face Roosevelt, followed by their final home game of the season against Saint Xavier on Nov. 6.St. Ambrose will finish out their 2021 season on the road, traveling to St. Louis, Mo. to take on Missouri Baptist on Nov. 13.All of St. Ambrose's home games will be played at Brady Street Stadium.
