WSC hosts #17 Minnesota Duluth in homecoming game Saturday afternoon

Wayne State returns home following two long road trips to face #17 Minnesota Duluth Saturday in the homecoming game at Bob Cunningham Field with kickoff set for 1 p.m.  The 'Cats are 4-1 on the season after defeating Minot State 48-22 last week in Minot. The Bulldogs are 5-0 on the season after they defeated Winona State at home 38-14 last weekend. UMD held Winona State to -28 yards rushing thanks to eight sacks in the contest, out-gaining the Warriors 420-270.  UMD is 14-2 all-time against the Wildcats. In the most recent meeting played in Duluth in 2021 Wayne State defeated the 11th-ranked Bulldogs 31-28. Two of the last three meetings between the Wildcats and the Bulldogs have been decided by three points.  Both WSC wins over the Bulldogs have come when Minnesota Duluth was nationally ranked – 31-28 at #11 UMD in 2021 and a 7-0 WSC win over #1 UMD in Wayne in 2011.
