Wildcats visit Northern State Saturday evening

Wayne State plays its fifth and final night game of the season Saturday evening as the Wildcats visit Northern State with a 6 p.m. kickoff at Dacotah Bank Stadium in Aberdeen, South Dakota.  The Wildcats are 5-2 and 4-2 in the NSIC following last week's 33-23 home loss to #15 Bemidji State while the Wolves are 3-4 (3-4 NSIC) and have won two straight after a 24-17 road win last week at Southwest Minnesota State. Northern State holds a 15-11 lead in the all-time series vs. WSC that started with games in the 1954 and 55 seasons.  Five straight and seven of the last nine meetings between the two schools have been decided by seven points or less with two games going overtime.  Saturday's game is the first trip to Aberdeen for the Wildcats since the 2017 season.  Last season WSC edged NSU 13-6 in Wayne while Northern State's last win in the series came in Wayne in double overtime 29-26.
