Wildcats host unbeaten #12 Augustana Saturday in home finale/Egg Bowl Game

Wayne State hosts #12/#10 unbeaten Augustana Saturday at 12 p.m. in the final home game of the season for the Wildcats at Bob Cunningham Field in Wayne.  It's also Senior Day for six Wildcats playing their final home game and the 34th annual Egg Bowl Game, an event that is held to help raise scholarship money for WSC athletics.  The Wildcats are 5-3 on the season and 4-3 in the NSIC following last Saturday's last second 28-26 loss at Northern State while the Vikings bring records of 8-0 and 7-0 to Wayne following a 28-10 home victory over then #3 ranked Minnesota State.  Augustana holds a 14-9-1 lead in the all-time series vs. Wayne State that started in the 1951 season.  The Vikings have won four straight and seven of the last eight matchups against the Wildcats, but the games in the series have gone down to the wire with seven of the last 11 contests decided by four points or less.  Last season, Augustana scored a touchdown with nine seconds left to win 31-27. Wayne State's last win in the series came in the 2017 season – a 16-13 win in Sioux Falls.  The last Wildcat win over the Vikings in Wayne came during the 2012 season 31-27.
