Watkins Impresses in First Career Start as Wildcats Defeat Lehigh 45-17 in Season Opener

VILLANOVA, Pa.—In the first start of his collegiate career after being a backup for the past two seasons junior Connor Watkins (Williamsport, Pa.) threw for the most yards ever by a Wildcats quarterback in their first career start to lead No. 6 Villanova (1-0) past Lehigh (0-1) by a final score of 45-17 at Villanova Stadium on Friday evening. Watkins threw for 298 yards and was responsible for four of the Wildcats six touchdowns while finishing the game with 321 yards of total offense.
