Wartburg's secret sauce for success

WAVERLY, Iowa– Every Friday evening, you can find members of Wartburg's defense grilling out together at an off-campus football house. These cookouts are all team-led, not directed by the coaches, and have become a weekly tradition the last two seasons. "We started this last year and it's been a good way to spend time together outside of football," said Jordan Downing. "There was a big group of us that all lived here last year (at the host house of the Oct. 20 cookout), and we've continued them this season, and it's been a great way to organically bond."
