PREVIEW: Rivalry Renewed as LR Heads to Carson-Newman

For the first time since 2019, Lenoir-Rhyne and Carson-Newman will meet as the rivals play for the 64th time in history. After dominating the head-to-head series from 1979-2009 with 31 straight wins, Carson-Newman has won one of the last nine matchups in the series. The most recent battle was in the Second Round of the NCAA Playoffs with the Bears coming away with a 49-21 victory. LR's last trip to Burke-Tarr Stadium came in 2018 when LR handed the Eagles a 40-21 defeat and LR hasn't lost in Jefferson City since a 38-35 setback on November 24, 2012.
