Potts named honorable mention for FCS National Freshman of the Week

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – As the weekly accolades continue to roll in on Monday, Tennessee Tech freshman quarterback Jordyn Potts was named an honorable mention for the FedEx Ground FCS National Freshman of the Week.

Potts, a true freshman out of Powell, Tenn., threw a Tech-freshman single-game record five touchdown passes in the Golden Eagles’ heartbreaking 44-41 overtime loss to No. 18/21-ranked UT Martin on Saturday. He was one touchdown pass shy of tying Bailey Fisher’s program-record six touchdown passes, set in 2019 at Eastern Illinois.
