Minium: ODU's DeLisha Milton-Jones Praised Mom During Induction for Leaving Abusive Father

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – DeLisha Milton-Jones and her sister, Charmaine, survived a horrific night more than four decades ago when their father shot bullets through a wall that sailed over their head. He didn't intend to hurt them, but their mother, Beverly Milton, had seen enough.

She gathered up her daughters, walked out the door and never looked back. Saturday night, before more than 1,000 people at an ESPN3 audience, Milton-Jones paid homage to her mother and her brave decision to walk out as she was being inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame.
