Jason Woodman hired by Morehead State University

Eleven year head football coach Jason Woodman has taken advantage of an opportunity to become the head coach at an FCS (Football Championship Series) institution. Jason will call Morehead State University, in Morehead, KY, home as he takes over the reigns effective January 6, 2024. During his tenure with the Fighting Falcons, Coach Woodman was able to accumulate a 60-47 overall record (55-43 in the MEC). "All of us at Fairmont State want to thank Jason for his time at Fairmont, and his leadership of the program" says Director of Athletics Greg Bamberger, "We wish him the best in his new venture". The university will commence a nationwide search for Coach Woodman's successor immediately. A committee representing internal and external constituencies has been created and will begin their review of applicants just after the new year. Those members of Coach Woodman's staff still on board will continue to recruit and prepare as necessary. There will be opportunities to meet the finalists once they are determined.
