Gettman named to Fred Mitchell Award Preseason Watch List

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Senior Kicker Ethan Gettman of the Bryant University football team has been named to the 2023 Fred Mitchell Award preseason watch list. He is the first player in program history to be named to the preseason watch list.

Gettman won the award last year after his historic season, converting a single-season-record 14 field goals and leading the country in FG percentage with 93%. He also went 40-of-42 on PATs to tallie a single-season record 82 points. Gettman is one of three kickers in the Big South-OVC to be named to the watch list. Heading into this season, Gettman has been named to the STATS Perform FCS, Phil Steele Preseason, and The Bluebloods 2023 Preseason Big South-OVC All-Conference Teams.
