From Doubt to Faith and From Brazil to the Gridiron: Mario Bento

LAKELAND, Fla.- If you walk up to any athletic coach at the collegiate level and ask them to share how they got involved in coaching their sport, you are likely to hear standard answers of how their own high school or college coach influenced them and how they knew they wanted to get involved in coaching at a young age. However, Southeastern University football running backs' coach Mario Bento is originally from a country where college football does not exist, and where he also believed neither did God. However, God has since taken him on a journey from doubt and unbelief to faith and hope, as well as opened the door for him to coach the game of football at the collegiate level.
