HAMPTON, Va. (Feb. 26, 2024) … The news of Russell Mills' passing on February 19, 2024, has left a void in the football community and the lives of those he influenced. Russell, A towering figure in stature and on the football field, left an indelible mark on the Hampton University football program and the lives he touched beyond the game. Born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia, Mills began his football journey under the guidance of Coach Sherley Stuart at William Fleming High, where he showcased his talent as a 6-7, 330-pound offensive lineman.
