[Football] The Skyhawks Roll Over the Eagles in First Conference Game

Cincinnati, Oh. – The Point football team will return home after a victory in Cincinnati, Ohio against the Eagles of Cincinnati Christian University. The Skyhawks returned to action in their first conference game of the Appalachian division after a bye week and showed up ready for battle. The Eagles found the endzone early in the first quarter with a 15-yard touchdown but Point quickly retaliated with a touchdown of their own, evening the score at 7-7. After CCU's first score, the Skyhawks would go on to outscore the Eagles 35-3 to secure their second win of the season. In the second quarter, the Skyhawks carried in a 24-yard touchdown run to gain a 7-point lead. With 37-seconds left in the first half, the Eagles kicked a field goal go into the locker room trailing 14-10. In the third quarter, Point was able to gain momentum and found the end zone two more times, raising the score to 28-10. In the fourth quarter, the Skyhawks continued to pour it on by scoring another touchdown, bringing the final to 35-10. Point improved their record on the season 2-4 and 1-0 Mid-South Conference Appalachian Division.
