Football Suffers First Defeat of Season at Wartburg

WAVERLY, Iowa – The Coe College football team dropped its first game of the season on Saturday at Wartburg, falling 28-7 to the Knights. The Kohawks and Knights played a low-scoring first half as the hosts converted two short field goals to take a 6-0 lead into the break but a 14-point fourth quarter for Wartburg led it past Coe. The loss is the first of the season for Coe and drops it to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the A-R-C while Wartburg improves to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the league.
