[Football] Late Bear scores too much for Tigers on Homecoming

Up 11 on Homecoming, all seemed to be going very well for Georgetown College football to improve to 2-0 in Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Divisional play. Unfortunately, University of Pikeville came up with a momentum shifting play early in the second half to grab control and hold on for a 37-31 win Saturday. The Tigers (2-3, 1-1) punted their first possession away after running seven plays for 23 yards for two-plus minutes. Josh Edwards' attempt to kick it away was blocked by Nyshun Bell, scooped up and run in for the score by Christopher Dublin."I thought we played well coming out of halftime. We just gave the punt away, and that probably was the difference in the game. When you're young, you've got a lot of young guys on special teams, too, so you're challenged in lot of ways. You live and learn, and we'll continue to work," GC coach Bill Cronin said. "They did a nice job. Don't take anything away from Pikeville. They came in with a good game plan, and they executed it. When things got a little hairy for them, they stayed with their game plan and continued to execute. I give them a lot of credit."
