[Football] Defense Wins the Day on Senior Day

Sterling, Kan. – Sterling College football (6-4) played its last home game of the season against the Ottawa Braves (4-6) on Saturday. It was a warm day with lots of sunshine, and plenty to celebrate, including our Seniors.Defense was the word of the day for the Warriors as they had a number of takeaways on the day. Starting with the ball, however, they moved down the field on their first drive. A couple of loss of yardage plays stalled the drive and the Warriors punted and gave the ball to the Braves. On their second play from scrimmage, Ottawa threw a backwards pass in the backfield that was not caught making it a live ball. Coban Honey, breaking towards the ball on the play, was able to pick it up and run it into the endzone for a fumble recovery 39 yard defensive score. Sterling took the early 7-0 lead.
