[Football] Cardinals score early, hold Tigers offense down

Georgetown College football wrapped up the season in the NAIA FCS First Round. The Tigers (6-2) hosted Concordia University Ann Arbor Saturday. The Cardinals (6-0) got off to a fast start, scoring touchdowns on their first two drives. CUAA held the home team down from there for a 21-7 win to advance to the quarterfinals.GC broke up the scoreless game with a seven-play, 70-yard drive in its final possession. Zach Dampier connected with Tamir Jones for an 18-yard touchdown play to finish the drive.Leading up to the game, the Mid-South Conference announced postseason honors. Inside the Bluegrass Division, DJ White was named Defensive Player of the Year. Nick Seither, in 2014, was the most recent Tiger to earn the defensive award. White is the seventh Georgetown player to be recognized as the best defensive player.
