Florida Man Who Embezzled $22 Million From The Jacksonville Jaguars Gets 6 Years

A former Jacksonville Jaguars has been sentenced to six years and six months in federal prison for committing wire fraud and engaging in an illegal monetary transaction. Amit Patel, 31, of Jacksonville, was also ordered to forfeit the proceeds of the wire fraud charge, which totaled $22,221,454.40. According to court documents, Patel operated a fraud scheme through which he embezzled approximately $22,221,454 from the Jaguars.
