Falcons Announce Starting Quarterback Decision For Week 9

By Matt Audilet Desmond Ridder is moving down the Falcons' depth chart to make way for veteran quarterback Taylor Heinicke, head coach Arthur Smith told reporters on Wednesday. Heinicke will get his first start of the season in Sunday's Week 9 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Ridder was benched midway through this past Sunday's Week 8 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Heinicke played well in place of the second-year signal caller, completing 12 of his 21 pass attempts for 175 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.
