Explosive Offense Too Much for Sewanee on Senior Day

CONWAY, Ark. – Looking to continue its momentum from a week ago against Millsaps, Hendrix hosted the winless Sewanee Tigers inside Young-Wise Memorial Stadium Saturday afternoon for the final game of the 2019 regular season. It didn't take Hendrix long to grab the double-digit lead as Hendrix forced two turnovers and scored 13 points in the games first five minutes after Mitchell Johnson recovered a fumble that resulted in a seven yard pass from Miles Thompson to Chad McGonigal. Hendrix scored a season-high 26 points in the first period as the Warriors cruised to a 47-17 rout of the Sewanee Tigers in the final game of the 2019 season. Hendrix finishes the year with a 7-3 mark on the year while holding a 5-3 record in Southern Athletic Association play. Kip VanHoose narrowly eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark on the season after recording 188 yards Saturday as the junior finished the 2019 season with 1,001 yards. The Hendrix football seniors were honored prior to kickoff.
