Alex Aitchison Named Academic All-American by College Sports Communicators

AUSTIN, Texas – Coe College junior football player Alex Aitchison was named a 2022 Academic All-American by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon in the organization's annual award release. Aitchison, who is the first Kohawk to earn the honor since 2017, was a standout performer on the defensive line, finishing the year seventh in sacks and 13th in tackles for loss across all of Division III. The Cascade native had 12 sacks, second all-time in Coe's single-season records, and 19.0 tackles for loss, which ranks fourth all-time for a single campaign. Aitchison, who was named first team all-conference and second team all-region, qualified for the honor with a 3.83 GPA as Kinesiology and Education major.
