WSC football plays at #19 Minnesota State Saturday in first round of NCAA Division II Playoffs

Wayne State travels to Mankato, Minnesota Saturday to face #19 Minnesota State in the first round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs.  Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. at Blakeslee Stadium.  Both teams are 9-2 on the season and shared the NSIC regular season title with Bemidji State.  WSC has won four straight games and is making their second playoff appearance in school history (2008) while MSU has won five straight contests since dropping a 41-33 contest in Wayne October 8th and is playing in the post season for the 13th time in school history.  Minnesota State holds a 12-2 lead in the all-time series against the Wildcats, but WSC has won the last two meetings – 41-33 in Wayne earlier this season and 35-24 at Mankato last season.
