Second-Half Slump Sinks Aggies in 28-10 Setback at San Diego State

Box Score

CARSON, Calif. – An inspired defensive effort by the NM State football team through the first 30 minutes allowed the Aggies to take a 10-0 halftime lead, but San Diego State reeled off 28 unanswered second-half points and NM State dropped a 28-10 decision to the Aztecs Saturday night at Dignity Health Sports Park.

Junior quarterback Jonah Johnson shouldered the majority of the load for NM State's offense, amassing 326 yards through the air, but trio of interceptions by the Aggies' signal caller yielded 14 points for San Diego State. The Aztecs, meanwhile, elected to do their damage on the ground, piling up 252 rushing yards against NM State's defense.
