Rensselaer Rewind: Late Stop Propels Football

SEPTEMBER 21, 2019 – Playing in front of more than 1,500 fans on an unseasonably warm evening at East Campus Stadium, the Engineers battled Utica College down to the final seconds of a back-and-forth non-league contest. RPI took a 35-27 lead when senior Marc Meislahn scored on a 6-yard run with just over six minutes to play, capping a 9-play, 64-yard drive. Following stalled possessions by both teams, the visiting Pioneers managed to get into the end zone to pull within two points, 35-33, with 19 seconds remaining in regulation. Naturally, Utica went for the game-tying two point conversion.
