[Football] Johnston Selected as CoSIDA Football Academic All-District Selection

WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University senior offensive lineman Brock Johnston (SR/Claremore, Okla.) has been named a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) NAIA District III Academic All-District selection as a first-team pick, the organization announced today (June 10).As a first-team selection, Johnston will now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, with first-team and second-team Academic All-America honorees being announced in mid-July.Voted on by CoSIDA members, eligible nominees must have maintained a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade-point-average, be an important starter or reserve and completed 12 months at the nominating institution. Nominees must have also completed their sophomore academic and athletic year.A four-year player for the Falcons, Johnston helped open the holes for the team to rank fourth in the KCAC and 15th in the NAIA in rushing offense per game (195.6) on the way to earning All-KCAC honorable-mention honors this past season.A solid student-athlete, Johnston has also received both NAIA and KCAC Scholar-Athlete honors.Johnston was also involved in the football team's participation with Friendship Fields, a program associated with Friends University that allows college-age adults with disabilities to experience college life while also offering Friends University students the opportunity to work with special needs students.For the official CoSIDA Football Academic All-District release, click HERE.
